Wedding at the Villa Medicea Di Artimino

Carolina and Isaac

From an 18th birthday party to a magnificent wedding at the Villa Medicea di Artimino.

I met Carolina at her 18th birthday party that I catered. Strong-willed, stubborn, independent, and even then at her side was Isaac.

When we said goodbye on the night of the party, Carolina looked me straight in the eye and said, “When I get married, I’ll call you!” She kept her promise, and I could not be happier and prouder to have been chosen, once again, to stand by her side in another of the most significant moments in her life.

The tenacity of her youthful years was matched by the gentleness, the concreteness of a young woman who knew life’s bad weather early on but “learned to dance” in that rain. And in Isaac he found the safe harbor, the home to return to, the fertile soil on which to sow the future.

This was a special wedding for me: it was like coming home and picking up a thread that had never really dissolved but was further enriched and with which we wove other plots with which to tell the story of life.

On a very bright mid-December morning, we had the ceremony in a hillside church dear to the bride and groom and their families, and then moved to the beautiful Villa Medicea in Artimino for a reception that lasted late into the evening.

Two parallel tables dominated the Villa’s living room, where the sunshine-unseen for winter-filtering through the windows shone a special light on the decorations, the amber-colored Kartell chairs that blended perfectly with the warm, golden colors typical of Christmas. And it could not miss a touch of red: the names written in calligraphy on the place cards, the printing of the menus, the lanyard for the mass booklet….

Truly nothing was left to chance in this wedding that has had, and will always have for me, a special place in my heart.
